I seem to have acquired a grizzly bear who says his name is Caelium. He's not particularly inclined to talk to anyone, but he assures me that he has no intention of assaulting anyone or anything without my consent. I've seen suggestions that these are manifestations of our souls; I wonder what having a bear says about me, if that is the case...

Today seems to be a rather unfortunate curse, but I seem to be unaffected. At any rate, it's good to have employment again, especially since I will be staying here indefinitely and there is no such thing as infinite finances.

The most common crime in the City appears to be murder, even though that is the one that has the least permanent effect. On one hand, it means that the victim cannot leave the City, but on the other, some of the victims may have been dead to begin with; also, some can regain their lives through a wish to the deities and the absence of thought and ( Read more... )

The City is already a bad soap opera, so a curse based on soap operas should not have been nearly as noticeable except for the decrease in the quality of the drama and increase in noise. That was just annoying.
